Artist-Led Exchange Event – Roos Dijkhuizen

Roos Dijkhuizen has been on residency at SSW the past month experimenting and creating a series of objects inspired by local symbology that can also be used to create an ensemble of sounds.

Roos would like to invite you to the workshop on Thursday 6th of July to share and explore how these objects can be played in a collective group, considering the works as tools to respond to your environment and finding your own rhythms in the landscape.

The evening will run with a gathering at the studios to experiment with different noises that can be made followed by a guided walk in collaboration with Gentian Miekleham, also a current resident at SSW.

Itinerary

6.00pm – Open studio experiments
6.30pm – Walk begins from SSW
7.30pm – Meet back at the SSW bothy for refreshments

Feel free to join in at any part of the evening. For any more information please visit our event page on Facebook or contact: arts@ssw.org.uk / 01464 861372

As part of Scottish Sculpture Workshop’s 2017 residency programme, SSW has launched a new series of part-funded residency awards to coincide with our AiR programme. The Artist-led activity: Exchange Programme will allow artists to undertake a month long residency free of charge in exchange for the organisation and delivery of an event, workshop or a series of short activities during their residency.

This opportunity is focused on self-directed practice and is for artists wishing to spend time working on the development of their work – whether this is for production, research or experimentation.

This event is supported by Aberdeenshire Council, Creative Scotland and Marr Area Partnership.
