Laurence Kavanagh (UK) is an artist and curator based in London. His practice develops through research and response to location, incorporating elements of cinema and architectural space. While at SSW he aims to explore Scottish film archives and the work of architect Archibald Simpson. Recent shows and curatorial projects include, The Music of the Future, Gasworks Gallery, London; Wider than the Sky (curated by Lizzie Carey Thomas), Spitalfields, London; Premio del Golfo, La Spezia, Italy; Corpa Nova, London. Recent awards include the British School at Rome Derek Hill Foundation Scholarship, and Arts Council grants. Future projects include a residency and show at IMMA, Dublin and a project in collaboration with Ganghut.
