Statement of current practice

Lois employs a diverse approach working with an array of processes. The catalyst often being context-specific in nature which provides the framework she works within. These processes manifest themselves as a tool kit that is used to manipulate an array of visual results. She often varies the media used, crossing between and combining together traditional and contemporary materials, finding unexpected influences in the changes that occur through time and process.  A challenging skill base combined with a richness of methodologies conveys directly an enjoyment in making. Working in this way Lois draws our attention to alternative perspectives that promote and sustain a certain discourse. These perspectives emerge from the form the art work takes and the methods that are employed during the creative process.
