Mundane objects and non-spectacular places interest us the most. They are so familiar that it’s easy to ignore them. Plastic chairs, coffee mugs, empty foyers and tiled washrooms of public buildings inspire and inform the vocabulary of our work. We create duplicates of these objects in various materials and arrange them into site-specific installations or work on series of paintings based on photographs of generic places.

Nature and especially the way it is being altered and manipulated, interests us as well. Discrepancy between purpose and appearance of man made “natural” environments such as zoos, wellness centers, gardens have informed many of our pieces.

We work collaboratively and consider our works to be conversations.  Our ideas often evolve during travels. We believe that the intensity of experiencing a new place has an amazing potential of sharpening perceptions and making us learn more about ourselves.
