LUMSDEN GALA DAY 2010
Micheal James USA left us heart broken. His grey satin shirt and cowboy charm entertained the people of Lumsden until the birds were singing. Actually it only took a few shandies before we were up singing on the stage with him too. I got a signed picture and my photo taken with him, maybe I will put them in a frame together above my bed.
The Gala Day was full of juvenile nonsense, our human horse race was a hit. A few bets were places too, but the odds were low and the four winners only got 25p each. Still, that was enough to put a guess on 'How many sweeties are in the jar?'. Ann's tea and cakes kept us going in between races and NOW NOW's Make Your Own Cat Show had all the wee one's (and the dads) in a cat-making frenzy. The hall was covered in shimmery bits of stuff, glue, pasta and newspaper. The winners were picked by our local vet, she had a tough job.
Congratulations to Jan Pester and Kathy Friend who won 1st Place (Grown-Ups) Best in Show for their camper van cat they'd whipped up last minute out of tubes and teabgs. And to Harris whose 'Cat by Fireplace and Mirror' won 1st place (Kidz) Best in Show.
Thanks to all the participants of the Cat Show. And a big thank you to all of NOW NOW and it's two newest 'honors' Celia Winnett (Fortune Teller and Host) and Niall Ferguson (Head Chef and Bookie).
