ROGERUS AND REIDIUS: BACK ON THE TRAIL OF TEARS
cowboyswit5872.jpg Graeme Roger & Kevin Reid met properly under psychotropic wings on Reid’s degree show night in the summer of 2001 after avoiding each other with distaste at college and their favourite Dundee club. That evening the pair wrestled and were later caught by Roger’s wife in the early hours of the morning dressed as elves in homemade costumes trying to catch dreams up a stepladder around the hall light. This stupid event spawned a beautiful working relationship and friendship that has lasted and grown since. Working very spontaneously and gut-reaction ally the pair have dreamt up scenarios to put themselves in through sporadic meetings that have allowed them to travel the length and breadth of the UK and Stateside. This has included being arsed waxed cowboy chauffeurs, evil elves in wookey hole, travelling around UK sites of mass bloodshed in a van with a harmonium, clarinet and props, being lycra clad shooting weapons of mass spudaction across the south of the USA and generally having fun within the contemporary art context. While resident at SSW summer 2008 they plan to return to "THE TRAIL OF TEARS" a mystical journey they began in 2004, touring battle sites and themes of bloodshed, remeberance and hope. The pair plan to make props for a film production they plan to shoot in 2009 hopefully bringing some sort of conclusion to this spiritual journey.
