More than 2 thirds into my internship and I am finally writing my first journal! Just recovering from an intense 3 week pirate making extravaganza in preparation for the Lumsden Gala Day. And oh what a day it was. We had a pirate ship made by my own fair hands and decorated by the Lumsden Primary School p7's, an oversized stuffed parrot, a treasure chest filled with pieces o eight and a lot of pirate oooarring.
The SSW team triumphed on the ladies flat race, cake competition and jars of beetroot were won on the over 50's bottle stall. The evening festivities consisted of a lot more eating, drinking, dancing, endless games of Koob and some sacrificial burning of the aforementionsed ship. All in all a fabulous Gala Day and night.
