Waterfalls and Beachballs

Thursday,26th August 2010

Well this is the 3rd week of my 6 week Residency at SSW. I'm working on a waterfall structure based on the Waters of Bogie along in Gartly (a village along the road from Lumsden). This will have an animation (based on the movement of beachballs drifting along the river) projected onto it. This is similar to my two Degree Show pieces which were based on a car park and train tracks, but this time i thought it would be interesting to investigate the organic movement of the river.

The structure is on the way. Eden has very kindly said he would continue to assemble the structure so I can begin to animate. So I'm starting to work on my animation for the piece as soon as Final Cut FINALLY decides to finish rendering my research footage. Just over two weeks until the piece needs to be ready for NEOS (North East Open Studios). Little bit nervous but I'm sure i'll get there!

It's been brilliant fun! My only regret so far is that I am yet to visit the pub that is hardly ever open here in Lumsden. 3 weeks to go though!
