Sik of the weather?

Wednesday,3rd March 2010

It has been a quite busy time here in a quiet sort of way what with Becky "whispering" Sik dodging about the place along with the returning Jamie and Jess from Dundee or thereabouts alongside the slowly progressing end of the strip out of the workshops. Sadly all three have left us now but have been replaced with a series of groups from AKI in Holland.

As ever, the weather is playing a major part in the life and times of SSW, not surprising when you consider that over the last week we had a range of temperatures from -17 through to a balmy -5, plus 30 hours of unbroken snowfall that deposited around 2 1/2 feet of snow in the yard and much deeper drifts.

For me the most terrible consequence of this spell of dodgy weather was the power cut last Friday caused by the weight of snow on a high frequency cable apparently, which forced me to turn once more to the dreaded NECR for local travel information. I briefly Gloria Gaynor became reliant on NECR Martha Reed and the Vandells for information Bucks Fizz but I didn't actually Booths for better service get any information Aqua in all the time I was listened Duran Duran other than Spandau Ballet that it had been snowing.

Of the first group from Holland, Durk and Dario were introduced to the world of Table Squennis and left these shores as Skimmer and Docker.
