Goodbye and hello
Sad to report the death of the polymath Alex Main. He was talented artist and writer, a cracking lad, the worlds finest great ape impersonator, a magician, storyteller and I miss him. I am sure that he will appreciate it as he looks down from above or up from below when I say that whether in the foundry or the bothy Alex touched everyone he met.
But not in the way that some representatives of a fairly popular religion have done in the past.
In contrast I am happy to report the arrival of our new director Nuno Sacremento. I would love to say that he has brought the sunshine with him from his home on the sunny continent, but as he was stuck on a snowbound train just outside Huntly for 3 hours last week perhaps you can make up your own mind.
In an act of bravado, or perhaps sheer ill-informed folly, Nuno has already volunteered for the SSW Moped Mayhem team and I am not convinced that he knows exactly what he has let himself in for. That old chestnut, "what you don't know can't hurt you" simply does not wash with the moped mayhem and the clue is in the "Mayhem" bit.
Just ask Simmone.
