It tolls for thee

Saturday,26th June 2010

The place has been ticking over quite nicely during the re-furb, we have had Whitespace filling the foundry and Mindpsace in the metalshop, an iron pour with Chris Bailey plus various other stray artists of various nationalities dotted about at intervals with the wonderful Pester and Rossi providing us with a grounding constant.

The amount of work those two lay-deez have put in on a myriad of Lumsden Gala / Pester and Rossi / Now Now / Drinking and Dancing projects has been tiring to observe.  A quick wander around the workshop environ gives a clue to the range of projects that they have undertaken. It reads a bit like what you imagine a soviet era Eastern Block version of the generation game prize belt would be like. Walking from No 17 front door to the bothy via the ganghut  you encounter :-

A giant flag adorned with a stirring slogan.

A wheelbarrow full of delicately painted field boulders.

A pile of cement.

A sewing machine,

Some flimsy looking fabric.

A series of posters offering unusual nocturnal services in the local telephone box.

Speaking of whitespace, William Whitespace has joined the list of volunteers keen to help out with the post refurb/pre-relaunch work. He has kindly volunteered his girlfriend's services too which was nice of him. So far we have had quite a few offers of help but the more the merrier or it will just be Simonne wielding a paintbrush. Sadly, I am unable to help with decorating, not because I despise the activity and hate the very thought of it but sadly I have a bone in my leg and a nail on my toe.

On subjects medical, an unexpected shiver ran down my spine whilst at work the other day after I had just poured bronze with Jeff the Dutchman. I quickly put this down to the change of temperature from standing next to a furnace whilst covered in PPE then heading off into the chill of the Scottish summer, but this did not explain the accompianing feeling of dread. However on getting home I found the probable cause, on the mat lay an application form for Moped Mayhem 2010.

Ask not for whom the bell tolls
