Fire, Farts and fare ye well's

SSW went to the 6th International conference of cast iron art big style. It was fantastic to see SSW as a point of reference in panels as diverse as collaborative iron sculpture, International exchange programmes, cast iron and perception, casting iron outside academia and the digital approaches to sculptural production.
Is that all I hear you ask
No! for we also ran the "Worlds Smallest Cupola Competition" and our very own Scottish Sculpture Workshops " Exquisite Cupola" in what turned out to an extended production pour till the iron ran out, or rather we ran out of iron.
Following this exciting and knackering festival of molten iron, Guiness and fire I did something highly unusual for me, I went on holiday. Not only that, it was to somewhere hot. So hot infact that despite all the time l spent cooling down in the hotel sauna I still managed to get a fetching "Man Tan", or the "White T.Shirt " look. However, thanks to the Lumsdonian climate the T has quickly grown sleeves and a high collar. Interestingly, I discovered that I was probably the last person to go to Barcelona from this country as everyone else I mentioned the proposed destination to had been there at least twice before.
Heading back we were lucky enough to share the plane with a football team back from an international tournament. Sadly it was a schoolboy football team, each of whose bowels had been adversly effected by foreign food. If they make a film of the journey, obviously entitled, "Farts on a Plane" then it will be far more scary than the snake version.
As to the fare ye well's, Pester and Rossi headed off this weekend, It has been great having them around, super-hard workers and a good laugh.
Also shipping out after a two week foundry residency was "Whispering" Becky Sik. She is coming back soon though with Kevin "Reidy" Reid to build a small propand furnace.
