Dearly Departed

Wednesday,27th April 2011

Quivering lips all round as the Pizio, Ozzy, Ye-ung and Lucy departed sunny Lumsden for France and probably sunnier Clairmond Ferrand.
It was not clear whether the sadness was due to the thought of leaving us or the fact that they faced a bus journey lasting 26 hours. My money is on the latter. I hope they avoid the vomiting imposthumes and gripes usually associated with such travel arrangements.

As is usual with the visit to Huntly of Spenser’s travelling fair (known locally as the rain Gods) the three week long heatwave is over and the rain is now falling. This change in the weather has come just in time to welcome our visitors from AKI, I hope that this doesn’t mean that the summer is over but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was.
