Wood Working – Spoon Carving

This one day course will offer an introduction to basic wood carving techniques to create your own wooden spoon. You will learn how to form and finish a spoon from a piece of sustainably sourced wood, using a hook knife carving tool. This handcrafted utensil can then be taken away with you at the end of the day.

The course costs cover tuition, materials and consumables.

Course content:

  • Induction to wood workshop safety rules and guidelines for personal protection
  • Demonstration of techniques and tools used
  • Initial try outs of the basic techniques
  • Design plan and formation of the wooden spoons and spurtles
  • Finishing
  • Technical supervision and support throughout
