Edge Effects: Barry Sykes Public Talk and Reading Group

(Light lunch from 12.30, reading group starts 1.00pm)


Public Talk: No booking required for the public talk but please contact us in advance for large groups.
Reading Group: The reading group is limited to 12 participants with only 6 spaces available for public booking so please book in advance, to book please contact yvonne@ssw.org.uk.

On Friday 26th artist Barry Sykes will give a talk on his recent and current projects in relation to ideas of Hermits, retreating, escape and detachment. This is followed by an Reading Group on Saturday 27th, responding to and activating our Edge Effects Library; a collection of resources that has been curated by artists and arts workers who have been involved in our recent 5 year project Frontiers in Retreat. After the main reading group session there will be a post-discussion in the SSW sauna – so don’t forget your towel and flip-flops if you want to use the sauna! Booking is essential for Reading Group but not for the Public Talk.
