Last week marked the end of this years Nightshift residencies and what an incredible bunch they were! Its always hard to say goodbye to residents but we know that 90% of the time, come hell or high water, they will be back!
Compiled here is a collection of ‘Visual Treats’ documenting some of the processes/ work/ activity/ sharing / experimentation/ exploring/ FUN… which took place at SSW during the two nightshift residencies this winter. Thank you to all who participated and contributed to this programme, we look forward to the next time: Helen Bird, Hildigunnur Birgisdottir, Linda Bolsakova, Tess Denman-Cleaver, Elizabeth Hudson, Iris Lacoudre, Christiano Mere, Jakob Rava, Emma Sandström, Bobby Sayers, Millie Schwier – Toriga Happi, Katrine Skovgaard.
Elizabeth Hudson:
“I went hoping to learn specific skills to help progress my work, which I did and was really great, but it was a much broader experience than that; the conversations, the sharing of space and ideas and the connections made with people totally changed how I was thinking about everything for the better.”
The nightshift programme took place over two five week blocks from November 2016 to February 2017. This programme is generally self-led but artists are brought together through a lightly thematic thread, the 2016/17 programme’s focus was: Leaving A Trace.
