Public and Artist Open Access
SSW was established to provide facilities for artists to make their work, regardless of background, practice or professional status. The Open Access programme offers access for production or research, as well as courses and workshop sessions for anyone wishing to learn techniques in sculptural mediums.
Groups are welcome for Open Access residencies and courses, and student groups are particularly encouraged during Spring (March/April) and Autumn (October). Groups can undertake independent practice, or we can help tailor a programme of technical instruction.
SSW facilities are accessible at any time, subject to availability, through our Open Access programme. This is offered on a production or research basis (research offers no access to the SSW workshops, although you are able to book them for 1/2 or whole day sessions). There are residential and non-residential rates, and concessions for those who are unemployed, students or recent graduates (up to 18 months after graduation).
