Dr Jen Clark

Dr. Jennifer (Jen) Clarke, Associate Professor at Gray’s School of Art, is a researcher, artist, lecturer, and curator. Her work intersects contemporary art and anthropology, focusing on ecology, landscape politics and sustainability, working mainly in the UK and Japan. Leading UKRI-funded interdisciplinary research and international socially engaged art projects, her academic background spans arts, anthropology, and artistic research, including degrees from Sint Lucas School of Art, Antwerp, University of Glasgow, Goldsmiths College, University of London, and University of Aberdeen.

Clarke’s feminist lens addresses pressing social and ecological issues in the UK and Japan, where she held a Visiting Professorial Research Fellowship in 2022.  Chair of Scottish Sculpture Workshop’s Board of Directors, she co-convened ANTART, EASA’s ‘Anthropology and the Arts’ Network (2020-22).
