Rebecca Davies

Rebecca Davies is an artist and co-director of The Portland Inn Project, she is from London and lives in Stoke On Trent.

Rebecca has a deeply embedded and collaborative practice that crosses illustration, design, performance and event, exploring the role of art in making change. Her work explores the role of art in making change, as a device and platform, to represent and communicate complex stories and politics. She has run participation projects with Turner Contemporary, Tate Modern, New Town Culture, and was lead artist of the Whitechapel Gallery Community Workshops for 3 years.

She designed and delivered touring projects such at Beau Belles Ice Cream Van (2012-2014 produced by Arts Admin) and The Oasis Social Club (2015-2017, funded by Arts Council England) and collaborated with artist Eva Sajovic on The Peoples Bureau, a skill exchange in Elephant and Castle (2010-2017). Rebecca and artist Anna Francis set up The Portland Inn Project CIC in 2016 in a residential area of Stoke on Trent, working in collaboration with other artists, arts organisations and residents to improve their community and renovate an old pub building. The project advocates for people led change, and champions the importance of art in leading that change, and in cooperation with public services.
