We are delighted to announce that Dylan Esposito has been selected by SSW for the RSA Residencies for Scotland programme. Through this Dylan will undertake a 4 week residency and our metal fabrication course.
RSA Residencies for Scotland is a scheme which provides valuable research and development opportunities for visual artists. It forges important networks with centres of artistic excellence across Scotland, ranging from traditional residency venues to specialised production facilities.

In response to recieving the award, Dylan says:
I’m incredibly excited to have been awarded an RSA Residency for Scotland at SSW – gaining access to their extensive facilities, learning from their highly skilled staff, whilst working alongside other resident artists from very different backgrounds and benefiting from the critical feedback and conversation that comes with that.
My works often take the form of utilitarian objects rendered unfit for purpose – exploring ideas of functionality, normalcy and value through sensory-focused sculpture. Recent projects like ‘Without Words’ & ‘Touch Base’ have centred on engaging people through touch, texture, and alternative forms of communication, particularly those often excluded from gallery spaces. Until now I’ve focused on recreating the appearance and feel of stone and metal through casting, so I’m really looking forward to finally working these materials directly at SSW.
We look forward to welcoming Dylan to SSW for RSA Residencies for Scotland. Congratulations Dylan!
