Winter Break 2024/25

Before the thermometer drops below minus 20 and the snow reaches our knees (its actually pretty warm this week – but we know the near subarctic conditions are coming) we want to send a huge thank you to all the artists, makers, local residents, partners, supporters and funders who have joined us this year. You all make SSW and bring such knowledge, inspiration and possibility to our workshop spaces.

This year we have run wonderful Group Residencies for artists joining us from across the globe, supported artists experimental making projects come to life through Open Access, continued our important fully funded Partnership Residencies, delivered Terms 1 & 2 of Building the Clay Commons Night Class with Eva Masterman, led an exciting programme of ceramic courses – from throwing to kiln building, opened the clay studio doors to our wonderful ceramic subscribers on Thursdays and Fridays, run the 2nd year of Community Making Space programming led by our brilliant Community Advisory Group and local makers and project managed the renovations of the bothy on the side. Phew!

We are now ready for our annual winter closure which kicks off from 20 December and runs through to 6 January. The gates will be shut and the team will be taking a break during this time. We will respond to enquiries and emails once we reopen.

We wish you all a very merry festive period and look forward to seeing you all in 2025.

From all at SSW
