Updated deadline: Monday 26 April 2021

From 18 – 22 May, Lumsden Live, a new community radio station, will be broadcasting live from Scottish Sculpture Workshop on FM channels in Lumsden and online across the globe!

Lumsden Live is a platform for people in Lumsden and the surrounding area to explore and imagine possibilities for the future of our rural communities. The community programming team is now looking for ideas and proposals for ‘takeover’ shows, to be broadcast throughout the week…

The takeovers could be:

  • music shows
  • programmes about something you are interested in or passionate about
  • a way to share something special about our community or local area
  • comedy shows
  • local history shows or stories
  • Doric language shows
  • Lots of other possibilities!!!*

The takeovers can be live or pre-recorded and the Lumsden Live production team will support you to make the show. Selected proposals will receive a fee of £40 for planning and hosting up to a one-hour long show.

Open to all ages, though children and teenagers under the age of 18 need to send a proposal with the support of an adult.

We would love to hear from people who live in Lumsden or have a connection to Lumsden, but are also open to proposals from nearby areas including, Alford, Cabrach, Gartly, Glenkindie, Huntly, Kildrummy, Mossat, Rhynie, Towie…

*we cannot support advertising. If you are a community group or charity who would like to share what you do, please email lumsdenlive@ssw.org.uk and we will get back in touch.

How to get involved:

If you live in Lumsden we will be popping a flyer and proposal form through your door. You can complete this and return it to SSW at 1 Main Street, by 9am on Monday 26 April.

If you live outside Lumsden, send us:

  • your name
  • contact phone number, email and your address
  • if you are proposing a live or pre-recorded show
  • and a few sentences about your idea (up to 100 words)

You can send this information to us in writing or as a voice memo, via post, email to lumsdenlive@ssw.org.uk, or DM on Facebook to @scottishsculptureworkshop.

We will respond to all proposals by Friday 30 April.
