Metal Workshop

In our metal workshop we can offer a range of metal working processes such as Mig and Tig welding, Angle grinding, drilling, plasma cutting, Oxy/Acetylene cutting and hot and cold bending.

With a focus on experimentation and skills development we can support making in many forms – from small scale armatures and maquettes through to the fabrication of larger scale steel sculptures. We can facilitate people with a wide range of skill levels and experience with support from our Technical Manager.

Our metal workshop is situated in the foundry building and offers plenty of space for marking out work on two large steel benches.  With a further two welding stations at different heights to accommodate multiple access needs.  The workshop has large barn doors that help keep the space as open as possible with free flowing air supplemented with localized extraction.

Equipment includes: MIG welder, TIG welder, pilar drill, plasma cutter, grinders, Oxy/Acetylene torch, metal folder, heavy duty guillotine, thread cutting tools, various electric and pneumatic power tools as well as a wide selection of hand tools.
