SSW is excited to be partnering with Unlimited for this years Partner Awards.
This Partner Award offers a £15,000 award to a Scotland based, disabled artist working in any discipline, to develop a new project and undertake a four-week residency here at SSW using our workshop spaces.
Through the Partner Award the artist will receive:
- An award of £15,000 for the development of a new project or idea
- Four-week residency here at Scottish Sculpture Workshop with accommodation, taken as one block or split across multiple shorter stays
- Access to metal and ceramics workshops
- Induction and support from SSW’s technical team
- Advice on producing, curation, and communications from SSW’s programme team during the residency period
- Documentation of research and development in an online format of your choice. For example a blog post with images, video, or audio recording shared via SSW’s channels
Eligibility
You must meet all of the following eligibility requirements:
- Professional disabled artists, or disabled artists leading the creation of work within disabled-led companies
- Based in Scotland
- Aged 18 and over
- Not in full-time education
Criteria
Your work must meet all of the following criteria:
- High quality
- Disabled-led
- Innovative and ambitious
- A clear artistic idea with strong development potential for future touring or exhibition
- Artist has some track record of creating work and reaching audiences
- The work can be completed within a 12-month timeframe
- Any artform, with clear rationale for making use of Scottish Sculpture Workshop’s metal and/or ceramics workshop facilities
- Artist is able to travel and stay at Scottish Sculpture Workshop to participate in the residency with on-site accommodation
