SSW Residency Programme
The SSW Residency Programme offers a number of opportunities throughout the year; these provide artists from all backgrounds, the time, space, support and facilities to develop their practice. At SSW we encourage experimentation and exploration of sculpture within the expanded field and so our residencies are open to artists of all disciplines.
Our residencies offer self-catering accommodation, a shared open plan studio space, access to all facilities and basic technical assistance. Residents are given the freedom to work in an open environment, share dialogues with peers and staff, and can be research or production based. SSW’s rural location with limited transport links, phone signal and Internet connectivity allows for intensive periods of development, production and reflection.
The SSW Residency Programmes are open call and involve an application process. Please see the specific residencies for more programme details, dates, deadlines and how to apply.
We are currently accepting applications for North AiR: Expanding Entanglements. Deadline for applications: Friday 7 December, 10:00pm GMT / 11:59pm EET.
*In addition to our programmed Residencies, SSW offers an open access programme, allowing access to workshops and facilities for all. These spaces can be booked residential or non-residential subject to availability.
