Practical Notes

The room has underfloor heating and a radiator and the temperature of the room can be easily adjusted on a wall mounted thermostat in the corridor. There is a wall mounted pulldown clothing rail. The windows and blinds are quite high up with short blind cords which could be a barrier. There is an information board in the bedroom space with additional information and fire safety information. There are additional plug extension leads available if required and a hepa air purifier that can be put in the room on request. There is a yoga mat under the bed if needed. There are multiple plug sockets around the room and additional extension leads can be provided if needed.

Flooring

Grey shortpile carpet in the bedroom. Grey flecked lino in the bathroom. All flooring is smooth and flat.

Lighting

In the bedroom there are two ceiling pendant lights with shades and two bedside lamps. The ceiling lights have dimmer switches and the lighting is warm and soft but can be made brighter to your needs. The entrance corridor has a bright ceiling pendant light with a shade which is sensor automated. The bathroom has very bright sensor automated ceiling spotlights with no shades.

Comfort

There is a very comfortable standard sized double bed with several pillows and cushions and natural fibre bedding. There are two seating options, a plastic hard back chair with no arms between the bed and the corridor and a low bamboo armchair with a cushion and blanket which is positioned by the desk.

Sensory Notes

The bedroom has neutral coloured decor with no strong patterns. There are no strong scents detectable from the nearby kitchen or studios. If there was a communal fire in the courtyard, the scent may be detectable within the accommodation. There are some sounds detectable from the kitchen and outside, especially at night when the site is quieter.

The bathroom has high contrast monochrome decor. There is a square tile grid wall with white tiles and black grouting and a wavy monochrome patterned shower curtain.

It includes a toilet with grab bars, a lowered sink and mirror, a double headed shower with a wall mounted fold-out adjustable shower seat, another unfixed adjustable shower seat and a red emergency cord. Towels are not provided. There is no grab bar in the shower which may be a barrier for some people.
