This winter, in collaboration with our Community Advisers, we’re excited to welcome you to the Community Making Space for our Winter 2026 Programme. From February to April, you’ll find a great mix of free daytime, evening and school holiday sessions to brighten the winter season and offer space for warmth, making, and connection. Check out the full programme in the menu on the right and head to the bottom of this page for more info on booking.
Join us for The Mid Week Make every Wednesday evening from 6-8pm for a chance to try out new skills led by a range of local artists and knowledge holders working in glass, clay, charcoal and ink. This season we will explore longer processes taking place in 2 parts over the course of two sessions allowing you time to learn techniques and also make something special to take home with you.
Our Thursday Club continues to be a space where you can come along and learn skills from artists and local knowledge holders to help nurture the Materials Garden and join us in exploring the question What Grows Here?. This season our Thursday Club will run from 11.30am – 1.30pm. Each session includes a free community lunch afterwards at 1.30pm shared with the SSW team and artists.
The Community Fridge also runs every Thursday from 11am and is available to access before and during Thursday Clubs.
Clay Socials will continue to take place monthly on a Friday evening from 6-8pm for residents of Lumsden, Honeybarrel, Mossat and Kildrummy. They are a chance to come together, socialise, have a blether and have free access to working with clay and learn related processes including handbuilding, coiling and glazing amongst others. Think the local pub but with added pottery!
We round off our Winter Programme and welcome Spring time with our Easter Kids Holiday Club. Kids Club is open to 7-14 year olds and runs from 10am – 1pm over three days. Children under 7 are also welcome to come along but must be accompanied by their parent/ caregiver.
The entire Community Making Space programme is free, with materials and food/ refreshments provided. No previous experience is needed, and everyone is welcome.
