A place where pottery meets the pub!
Come and join us once a month from 6–8pm for an evening of getting together with neighbours and having fun with all things clay. These relaxed creative sessions will introduce different clay techniques including making stamps and sprigs, press moulding and creating pots for the garden, while offering plenty of time to work on your own creations. If you haven’t used clay before don’t worry, no experience is required.

Snacks and refreshments are provided and all materials, consumables and firing are free.

Clay Socials are only open to people living in Lumsden, Honeybarrel, Mossat, Towie and Kildrummy.

Sessions

Friday 26 June – Press Moulding, Stamps and Sprigs.
Friday 24 July – Making Pots for the Garden

Press Moulding, Making Stamps and Sprigs

Friday 26 June, 6-8pm

Participants will explore press moulding techniques using clay slabs and moulds to create functional and sculptural ceramic forms. The session will also provide opportunities to experiment with texture and surface decoration, including using stamps and sprigs to imprint and decorate the clay.

Making Pots for the Garden

Friday 24 July, 6-8pm

Inspired by the summer season and the Materials Garden, this session will explore different ceramic vessels that can be used for planting, harvesting and use within the garden. Participants will be introduced to a range of handbuilt pots and vessels through simple demonstrations before having the opportunity to experiment and create their own ceramic pieces.
