SSW Open Door Summer Celebration

On Friday the 20th of July, SSW will be opening its doors to the public for summer celebrations – come rain or shine!

After two weeks of hard work, the international artists who have been participating in the USUK Cast Iron Symposium, would like to join the local community in an SSW Summer Celebration. The festivities will kick off at noon with a Potluck Picnic – guests are asked to bring along a picnic dish of your choice to share in the Potluck. There will also be Paper Kiln Building, Face Painting, Clay Play, an interactive Sculpture Workshop, as well as a spoken word acoustic set from Seeds of Thought (tbc) and a few tunes from resident artist / technician Virginia Hutchison. The SSW artists studios will also be open for the public to see all the work that has been made during the Iron Symposium.

At 4pm there will be a live iron pour performance as part of the USUK: International Cast Iron Symposium, with music from local musician Mark Rennie and a Make-Your-Own Scratch Block session*.

From 5pm join us for a BBQ and more live music with solo performances from Grant Anderson and Nassim Donald, followed by the Willie G Trio playing on into the evening.

We look forward to seeing you there!
