Information for visitors with child dependents

Metal Fabrication Workshop

Intro The metal workshop is in a large white building in the courtyard, across from the main building. It is accessed via two large double doors. There are also two side doors. One is accessed via the courtyard, directly across from the main building and it has one step and a lip at the threshold. Sauna

The Sauna is the small wooden hut in the courtyard next to the Bothy.  The entrance to the sauna is around the back on the narrow paved path through a door with a pull hole-handle. There is a low seat next to the door and higher benches. The sauna needs to be prepared by a member of staff and safety information will be provided. On-site accommodation bathrooms

Onsite Accommodation Bathroom 1This bathroom is at the end of the hallway where the bedrooms are. It contains a toilet, shower, sink and bins. A shower seat is available to use, ask a staff member for this. The decor is neutral and there is natural lighting from the skylight window or bright ceiling lights. On-site accommodation

There are four on-site accommodation rooms with two bathrooms. The on-site accommodation can be accessed through the side door which is a code locked heavy fire door with a small turn latch and no door handle and it is not automated. Accessible toilets

Accessible Toilet 1 This accessible toilet is next to the main entrance on the raised paved area in the courtyard which contains doorways to the SSW Main Office and Artists’ Studio North. There is space to enter with a wheelchair. It has grab bars, a lowered sink, and emergency cord. This toilet has a fold-down baby changing facility. Ceramic Studio

Intro The ceramic studio hosts artist residents as well as Ceramic Subscribers who use the studio on Thursdays and Fridays as day visitors. The studio is supported by Ceramic Technician, Amy Benzie who works Tuesday – Friday and you can access technician support on these days.
